Professional FAQ

WonderCon Anaheim 2018 professional badge registration is now OPEN! There will be no onsite professional registration. Online professional registration will close on March 6, 2018, or when capacity is reached, whichever occurs first. 

 

To register  for WonderCon Anaheim 2018 professional badge, log in to your Comic-Con Member ID account, select the "Professionals" tab, and click the WonderCon Anaheim 2018 “Click here to register your badge now!” link. Be sure to register your guest badge(s) when you submit the online request form. You cannot return to the online registration system at a later date to request guest badges. The deadline to submit your online request form is March 6, 2018. 

Save time, don't wait in line! All professional badges registered before February 20, 2018 will be shipped to you in advance. We encourage you to submit the online request form prior to this date. We are unable to ship badges to an international address. International professionals may pick up their badge and any guest badges when they arrive onsite. 

All professional applicants must have a valid and confirmed Comic-Con Member ID. Click here to create your Comic-Con Member ID. A Member ID is free and available to all adults and juniors (ages 13 to 17) with a valid email address.

If you have already submitted an application and are approved, your member class will automatically change to a professional member class. You do not need to sign up for a new Comic-Con Member ID if you already have one. Your existing Member ID will automatically change to a professional member class once you are approved.

The professional application period for WonderCon Anaheim 2018 is now closed. All applications and verification material were due by January 16, 2018. If you submitted an application on or before this date, please allow 3 - 4 weeks for processing.

Yes, both trade professionals and creative professionals are eligible to register for WonderCon Anaheim 2018 professional badges. Unlike Comic-Con, WonderCon Anaheim professional badges are complimentary for both classes.

Your professional badge and any guest badges that you register will be mailed to the shipping address listed on your Comic-Con Member ID as of February 20, 2018. To review and/or update your shipping address, log in to your Comic-Con Member ID account and select the “Contact Info” tab. All professional badges registered after February 20, 2018 will be available for pick-up at the Anaheim Convention Center.

We are unable to ship badges to an international address. International professionals may pick up their badge and any guest badges when they arrive onsite. You will need your WonderCon Anaheim 2018 badge confirmation and a photo ID to pick up your badge.  

You do not need to specify which type of professional you are applying as. Comic-Con’s verification team will make the determination and notify you after reviewing your application and verification materials.

As a nonprofit organization, Comic-Con International/WonderCon Anaheim is able to provide a complimentary professional badge to individuals who meet the published guidelines and who provide verification materials and proof of employment with qualified job titles.

Comic-Con International/WonderCon Anaheim process over 12,000 professional applications every year. With this kind of volume, we need to employ temporary staff who may not necessarily be familiar with your personal credits.

Comic-Con International/WonderCon Anaheim requires that all professionals resubmit verification materials every three years with continued qualifying work.

If you cannot, or choose not to, provide the required verification materials, we suggest you purchase a badge through general attendee registration. Your application as a professional cannot be processed if you do not provide verification of your work as a professional in comics or related popular arts. Listing your work projects on your application is not considered verification. You must submit qualifying verification materials to support the projects on your application.

Please allow 3 - 4 weeks to process applications and verification materials. All applications are processed in the order in which they are received. If you do not receive a response within 4 weeks, please send an email to proreg@comic-con.org. Make sure to include your Comic-Con Member ID, the date your verification materials were mailed, and a description of the materials you submitted.

Please contact proreg@comic-con.org to confirm that we received your application. Comic-Con International/WonderCon Anaheim strongly recommends that you email your professional application and verification materials. Should you choose to mail in your application and verification materials, we suggest that you send them via FedEx, UPS, USPS certified mail, or any service that provides a delivery receipt. Comic-Con International/WonderCon Anaheim is not responsible for lost applications and/or materials that were sent without tracking or delivery confirmation.

Each verified professional may request a complimentary WonderCon Anaheim 2018 badge for up to two guests until capacity is reached. All guests must have a valid Comic-Con Member ID. Click here to sign up for a Member ID today!

Guest badges are limited, and not all guests can be accommodated. Professional guest badges may be used to register up to two adult or junior (age 13 - 17) guests. Children (age 12 and under) are free with a professional badge and do not count toward your guest limit. Child badges must be registered onsite at the WonderCon Professional Registration Area of the Anaheim Convention Center. Please note that the child must be present to receive a badge. Be sure to register your guest badge(s) when you submit the online badge request form. You cannot return to the online form at a later date to request guest badges.

If your original guest cannot attend and you would like to bring a new guest, you must bring your original guest badge, along with your new guest, to the Professional Registration Area at the Anaheim Convention Center.  Please note that your new guest will also need a valid Comic-Con Member ID.

No, this registration and application period is for WonderCon Anaheim 2018 only. The Comic-Con 2018 professional application period is closed.

No. Professional registration is a courtesy and your WonderCon Anaheim professional badge is non-transferable. You may not transfer or sell your WonderCon Anaheim professional badge. A professional badge has no monetary value and you are not entitled to a refund of any amount for your complimentary professional badge.

A WonderCon Anaheim professional badge does not give you early access, special access, or assigned seating to any of our panels or programming rooms. You must wait in the same line as the general attendees.
